Websites that show you how to cite sources and do your bibliography

Citing your sources: Noodletools & Turnitin.com

Databases' "CITE" buttons

NOTE:  Most databases have a "Cite" button where you can get a computer-generated citation of the article you are looking at (check for accuracy).  Many NICC instructors use APA Style Format or MLA Style Format.

Citation tools found under the NICC Library "Research Help" tab:

Noodletools: This database helps you write citations in MLA or APA format as well as complete bibliographies for research papers.  If you are off campus and using this for the first time, you will need the library’s ID and password.  If you do not know it, you will need to contact your librarian or teacher to ask for the login information.

Turnitin.com: The online plagiarism checker called Turn-It-In is integrated with BrightSpace.  Faculty automatically see an originality score and link to the report for all submitted assignments.  This database assists you in understanding what sections of your paper are original and what may be copied or needs quotation marks. It aides you, the student, in better understanding what needs to be cited and what is considered plagiarism. Your instructor will provide you with an ID and password to enter the instructor’s class site.
