...Get a new Student ID?

Your NICC ID card is also your library card. Follow these steps to obtain an NICC ID card. You may obtain one in person at the library, or request it online and then pick it up at the library.

What do I need to get a student ID?

You will need the following identification:
1.  An acceptable form of photo ID:

Non-expired driver’s license
Non-expired state-issued or approved ID card
Current college or high school ID card
Current state or federal ID card
Non-expired passport
Tribal ID card
Naturalization card or certificate of citizenship

2.  Class Schedule
3.  Student ID number (may be found on your class schedule).

When can I get my ID?
Stop at the library during regular hours to get your photo taken and have it printed. It only takes a few minutes! You'll also get a handout about what you can use your ID for.

Students may also submit an online request for their student ID! When submitting the form, you MUST include a current photo of yourself. IDs will not be mailed to an address, but can be picked up at either campus library or any of NICC's Centers.

What's with the stickers?

Each semester you attend NICC, you will be requested to get a new sticker from the library. 

Can I get a replacement ID card?

If an ID card is lost, stolen, or destroyed, a duplicate card can be purchased in the Library.  A fee of $5.00 will be charged for each replacement card issued.  Cards with errors or incorrect information on them will be replaced at no cost.

... Get a new Clinical Badge?

Am I eligible for a Clinical Badge?

Students in these programs may request clinical badges: Cosmetology; Early Childhood; EMT; Health Information; Medical Assistant; Nursing; Practical Nursing; Radiologic Tech; & Respiratory Care.

Students must show proof of current enrollment in one of the above programs.

Where can I get my Clinical Badge?

You may request and receive a clinical badge in person at either campus library.  Clinical badges may also be requested using an online form, but you must pick up your badge at the library.

Library Cards for Students

Your NICC ID card is also your library card. Follow these steps to obtain an NICC ID card. You may obtain an ID card in person at the library, or request one online and then pick it up at the library. See steps in box above.

Library Cards for Community Borrowers

Library visitors without NICC affiliation or community members who do not have Iowa public library cards, may apply for a NICC Community Borrower library card by following the steps below:

(1)  Fill out application form at campus library.

(2)  Provide an acceptable form of photo ID:

Non-expired driver’s license
Non-expired state-issued or approved ID card
Current college or high school ID card
Current state or federal ID card
Non-expired passport
Tribal ID card
Naturalization card or certificate of citizenship

(3)  Proof of current address if not on photo ID. Acceptable forms of address verification are:

Utility bill

Postmarked mail to current address

...Get my employee ID card?

NICC ID Cards for Employees

(1)  NICC new employees may have their supervisor accompany them to the library to obtain their NICC ID card, which is also their library card.

(2)  Acceptable forms of ID are:

  • Supervisor’s presence with staff member requesting ID card
  • Supervisor’s prior approval communicated to staff issuing new ID card

(3)  Employees may also use the NICC ID online request form.

(4)  If an ID card is lost, stolen, or destroyed, a duplicate card can be purchased in the Library.  A fee of $5.00 will be charged for each replacement card issued.  Cards with errors or incorrect information on them will be replaced at no cost.

...Access Library Resources Off Campus?

Click on the database, journal, link, etc.

  • You will be prompted for your NICC e-mail address & password to gain access.
  • You will automatically be redirected to the resource.

...Get material from the other campus library?

  1. Search the combined catalog on the library homepage.
  2. Find the item you want and select "Request Item".
  3. Log in to your account:
    • Your Borrower ID is the 14-digit barcode number on the back of your NICC ID.
    • Select your location from the pull down menu.
    • In the comments box, please include your email or phone number.

Note: If the table of contents is not available through the catalog, then type “Table of Contents” in the comments box with your other location information. The library will email the table of contents to you. This may help you decide if you need the book.

To access: Sign into MyCampus account  with NICC Username and Password.

Click: Library task icon

Open: A-Z Databases List navigation bar at screen left. 

Library Account 

A 14-digit NICC ID Number may be required by some resource sites. 

This number is on the back of your student ID card. 

Do not have an ID card?  Follow these steps to get your 14-digit number:

  1. Locate the ID number listed on your Class Schedule or  Financial Statement                                                                                                MYCampus > Self-Service for Students
  2. Combine your campus center number below with your 7-digit (#######) student ID number.
